Close Distance Training (FaDR)

We are trainers, consultants, professionals who prefer human contact and experiential, emotional, direct training, close to the learners. We believe in the value of the educational relationship and we know that it takes several weeks for proper learning to be structured and to generate knowledge and behaviors consistent with what has been learned. We believe in the importance of in-person teaching but we recognize the value of distance learning that brings together participants from different places and contexts in an effective virtual classroom. For this reason, together with colleagues who work in companies, training centers, business schools, universities, and educational institutions, we practice a new methodology of Close Distance Training (FaDR) that aims to combine the effectiveness of emotional teaching with the efficiency of remote, online training.

The effectiveness of this approach essentially lies in the methodological choice: few moments of theory accompany a process that focuses on enhancing individual and group experiences, highlighted by a sequence of experiential and narrative exercises, designed in line with the latest neuroscientific research on the learning of children and adults. These activities are constantly supported by moments of reflection in small groups, individual work, pair work, both in person and remotely, also through the use of mobile phones.

By Close Distance Learning (FaDR) we mean:

a remote (but not only) training activity based on constant and bidirectional interaction between teachers and students. The cornerstones of this teaching method for us are:

1. The constant interaction between the people involved;

2. Concrete educational/training objectives;

3. A well-defined educational container (setting), mainly virtual, developed on an interactive platform.

4. Great methodological flexibility that takes into account the specificities of learning groups and individuals, constantly adapting the content to the container.

In order for these conditions to be fully met, we believe it is essential to support teachers and participants in developing new skills:

• Technological (the willingness to learn is essential);
• Empathic, but also trust (in participants, colleagues, and oneself);
• Didactic, to apply the principles of learning to the virtual classroom;
• Practical; many hours of practice and a lot of exercise are needed;
• Multitasking; you need to learn to do several things at once;
• Time management, priorities, and focus on objectives;
• Personal (confidence, resilience, availability, authenticity, intellectual honesty, emotional intelligence).
