We constantly keep ourselves up to date on the most recent applications of neuroscientific research to management.
We collaborate with the Department of Neurosciences at the Catholic University of Milan on research into the effectiveness of training, assessment, and coaching processes, using neurometric measurements of brain synchronization through hyperscanning techniques.
Our aim is to understand the deeper reasons behind change: we explore the impact of work on broader social contexts, and the influence of culture on our professional practice.
We publish our research and share our insights through a careful and thoughtful program of cultural dissemination and outreach.
Below, we present some of our studies and selected readings.
Autobiographical narration and neuroscience: neurometric insights into work group dynamics
by Massimiliano Santoro, Enrico Di Palma, Giulia Maria Paganini (Neuropsycological Trends, November 2025)
This study explores the use of neurometric assessments, particularly EEG hyperscanning, in the context of autobiographical storytelling as a tool to improve group dynamics and trust within teams. Social research has shown that collaborative activities such as storytelling foster synchronization among participants, enhancing mutual understanding and cohesion. Sharing one’s personal story helps reduce self-centered tendencies and encourages collaboration. Thanks to recent advancements in hyperscanning techniques, it is now possible to analyze multiple individuals simultaneously, opening new perspectives for research. The goal is to investigate neural synchronization that emerges during autobiographical storytelling sessions, with the prospect of addressing the challenges of contemporary work environments and fostering cohesive, inclusive, and high-performing teams. Ultimately, the study aims to develop an advanced research protocol to explore how personal narratives can create an emotional “force field” capable of strengthening collective social intelligence and promoting relationships based on collaboration and trust.

Neurochange
by Massimiliano Santoro (Ricerche di psicologia - III tr. 2017, pp. 313-324)
The process of change management is fundamental for any organization. In reality, people and organizations spontaneously resist change. This resistance is necessary to protect our conditions and traditions, as individuals fear losing their identity.
In this field, anthropological studies on organizational culture prove effective in understanding the process of change within cultures. Recently, neuroscientific research on behavior has added new insights, enabling researchers to measure individuals’ attitudes toward change.

Neuroscienze e management
by Davide Garofalo & Massimiliano Santoro
Neurometric experimentation applied to sales force management has proven to be a valuable ally in organizational change management.
Being able to identify implicit associations and internal resistances—often unconscious—within work groups and organizations is the first step toward overcoming them, and toward achieving improvement through training and shared practices.
Here is an example.

Il potere assoluto
by Massimiliano Santoro (articolo su Direzione del personale - 2008)
The origin of the term “power”, and its genesis and evolution within the company, raise questions about what power intrinsically is and how it manifests itself within organizations.
